Primer from Studio Gear l First Impressions

Primer Studio Gear Skin Objective Face Perfecting

Acne. Hyper-pigmentation. Redness. I have it all.  So I love trying out new products that have “skin perfecting” features.  The Studio Gear Prime Objective Skin Perfecting Face Primer definitely fit this description.

This primer is very similar to Smashbox Photofinish.  Both products have a gel-like texture, no scent, and blends beautifully in to the skin.  My skin feels noticeably softer and smoother after applying this product.  I’ve been using the Rimmel London Wake Me Up foundation and this foundation is quite dewey on my combination skin, but this primer really helps this foundation stay on my face and not break-up throughout the day.  Trust me, patchy looking cake-face is never going to be a trend.  With foundation, you want your skin to look even toned and smooth.

Plus, whenever I apply this product on my face, my concealer stays put.  It does not crease or get patchy throughout the day.  I mean seriously, it is stuck like glue and that is one thing I’ll be happy to have stuck on me.  Because the gum stuck on the bottom of my new shoes does not make me happy and it also NEVER comes out.  You’ll always have that small little patch that you couldn’t pick off.  Anyway…let’s get back to the primer shall we?

So, I love how this product keeps my face looking fresh longer without having to apply ridiculous amounts of setting power throughout the day.  Plus with setting powder, you’ll easily become cake face by the time 5 O’clock rolls around.  Not to mention, who has time for touch-ups anyway?  Even with dewey foundations, I know I won’t look like an oil slick if I applied my prime objective primer that morning.

The Prime Objective also doesn’t break me out.  During that special time of the month, my skin had huge breakouts and this primer layered beautifully under my concealer.  My breakouts healed relatively fast and I don’t know if it was the new toner I tried or this new primer but I’m not changing anything in my skin routine.  If it isn’t broken, why fix it?

What’s your favorite primer?

Smokey Eye and Full lashes with Studio Gear Gel cream eye color

Anything that claims to be invincible or give me full lashes is a must-try product in my book.  Let’s be real, I’m Asian.  I’m stuck with short and straight lashes. So, I really could use any help I can get.  For this smokey eye look, I’ll be featuring my first impressions of the Studio gear eye color and mascara.

Invincible Gel Cream Eye Color

First, let’s start with the invincible gel cream eye color.  The color is invincible earth.  This stuff is super pigmented and has the same texture as the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade.  So, I actually used this eye color on my brows and found that it was pretty easy to blend out.

**TIP: If you’re using this cream as your brow pencil, a little bit goes a long way.

After I filled in my sparse brows with the gel cream, I also used the invincible brush and applied the eye color over my top and bottom lash line to give my eyes some definition.  I love that the dark brown color is cool-toned so it can work as liner, brow color, and shadow. And any type of multi-use makeup is my best friend (especially for traveling!!!).

For my shadow, I layered this eye color on the outer corners to create a smokey eye look.  Over eye shadow, I found that the eye color is a little hard to blend.  But with a dense eye shadow brush, I eventually blended it out and my smokey eye look stayed all day!  I have pretty oily eyelids so any makeup that lasts all day with no creasing is a WIN in my book.

ImpactFULL Pro TLS Mascara

To finish off my eye look, I used the IMPACTFULL PRO TLS Mascara. The mascara formula is quite wet and separates your lashes quite well.  I applied three coats of mascara and it didn’t clump up my lashes.  The large mascara brush is great for separating lashes and giving you a fuller look.

After a full day of wear, I found that my brows still looked awesome and my top lash line still looked fabulous. However, my bottom lash line smudged a tiny bit but it wasn’t too bad. Even after a full eight hours of wear, the mascara didn’t smudge a bit!  It’s awesome.

For a long-wearing eye look, I would definitely recommend Studio Gear‘s new Invincible Earth gel cream eye color and IMPACTFULL mascara.  If you want try these products out, you can get 10% off with discount code: “SGEYES”
