3 Trendy Ways to Style Tights (That You NEVER Thought Of)

Tights seem like something your grandmother told you to slip on because your ankles are showing.  But I’m here to show you that tights CAN be trendy, so here are 3 trendy ways to style tights (that you never thought of).

My Inspiration to Style Tights

Korean street fashion is seriously #lifegoals!  It’s cute, trendy, and polished.  All three of these outfits were inspired by various Kpop idols and random people on the street.

Fishnet Stockings

I think it was about six months ago when I saw the first Instagram post of fishnet stockings and socks paired with ripped jeans and a pair of oxford shoes.  Lua from Le-Happy since then has posted multiple shots of this style and I fell in love.  I’ve been following Lua P. for almost six years now. Her Lookbook account was totally #goals!

Using her outfits as inspiration, I’m going to pair these flesh-toned stockings under a ruffle skirt for a cool girly vs. grunge contrast.

Colored Tights

Colored tights are a statement piece that if done wrong could lead to serious clown vibes.  But done the right way it can be the perfect street style outfit.  I love pairing colored tights under monochrome outfits. This look is simple and super chic- not like your five-year old more is more self with rainbows and glitter and seven layers of necklaces.

Or you can play with color and have an all pastel outfit.

keep it simple!

Black Tights

Worn under shorts and paired with a button-up for a cute and polished look, paired with sandals

or worn with distressed skirt or shorts with a graphic tee and beanie for a cool 90s and grunge look, finish off the look with combat boots or platform boots.

There are seriously a hundred ways to style tights (and maybe even more).  Whether you’re styling them for some extra warmth or using them for a pop of color, don’t forget to rock them with confidence!

2017 Korean Fashion Trends (AKA The Street Style Essentials)

My fashion inspiration is Stylenanda and Chuu’s editorial pictures.  They’re layering and styling is amazing and so unique.  It’s honestly a work of art.  2017 Korean Fashion Trends are twists on classic pieces, inspired by color, and plays with textures.

Hyuna and Krystal have been my style icons lately.  They’re take on the 2017 Korean Fashion Trends is awe-inspiring.

Before we get any further let’s map out these trends. What’s awesome about these trends is that you probably have most of these already in your closet!

2017 Korean Fashion Trends

First on the list is the quintessential T-shirt.  Don’t think of it as a lazy day thing or just for pajamas.  Your tee deserves so much more so let it shine by layering a cool blouse underneath it.  A fitted mesh top or striped blouse would turn your old tee in to a street style classic.

Don’t forget to work those ANGLES!  For a more slimming look, try getting a pair of shorts that’s fitted at the waist and looser on the legs.

The next thing on our list of trends is inspired by the 60s/70s, the striped top.  You can layer the striped top under a tee or wear it alone.  This combo looks great tucked in to a pair of high waisted jeans.  If you want a cool grunge look then pair this top with a pair of distressed mom jeans.  And don’t forget your converses to finish off your outfit!

In Korea, oversized tees, sweaters, and cardigans are taking over the market.  They look great paired with short shorts and boots or worn as a tunic with a cool pair of sneakers.  Korean girls love this new look because it elongates their figure and makes them look slimmer.

So, here’s a sneak peak of what I’ve been wearing lately.

First Look: The Classic T-shirt

Korean fashion has changed the way I think about a t-shirt.  Seriously, t-shirt and jeans are no longer a boring outfit.  Instead they are chic, high-fashion items.  When you layer a tee with a textured blouse, it creates an interesting mix of casual meets sophisticated.  Basically the essential key to street style fashion.

What do you think? Would you try this look?

5 Korean Fashion Websites without Shipping Fees (That You HAVE to Check Out!)

korean fashion websites without shipping fees

Korean beauty and fashion is the BEST!  I’m in love with everything.  Unfortunately, I live in the US so it’s pretty hard to buy Korean stuff without being charged an insane shipping fee.

It’s awesome that TONY MOLY, BELIF, Dr. Jart, LANEIGE, and a few other Korean beauty brands can now be found at Ulta, Sephora, and Target.  But Korean fashion is still very hard to find in the US if not impossible to find.

After hours of browsing the almost too cute to be real pictures of Korean fashion, you click add to cart and just as you’re about to click “check out,” your heart stops.  You see the $60 shipping charge and you slowly close your web browser.  Your dream of shopping Korean Fashion Websites without shipping fees seems impossible.  After hours of window shopping, it seems like you’re just going to have to find “inspired” pieces at Forever 21 and H&M.

BUT I’m here to tell you that there are Korean Fashion Websites Without Shipping Fees. Yes, they aren’t the unicorns of the fashion industry anymore.  They’re real.  Seriously!

So, I have compiled a list of sites where you can shop for all your favorite styles on Korean Fashion Websites without shipping fees.

The 5 Korean Fashion Websites Without Shipping Fees

First on the list is my one and only love.  Stylenanda.  There aesthetic and style is just perfect!  They can do no wrong in my eyes.

Stylenanda has a great selection of 3CE cosmetics.  3CE is awesome and many of their products like blushes are under $15 and they’re nail polishes are all under $8!  When I saw this, I think my brain just melted.  Trust me, it took a lot of self-control to not buy one in every color.

Many Stylenanda pieces are under $40 which is amazing!  On the Stylenanda site, you get free shipping with a purchase of over $200.  I know that seems like a lot but for me, it’s worth it.  If you’re looking for trendy items, you won’t get any better than Stylenanda.  Korean fashion is generally two years ahead of the US and the UK so grab these pieces up and be the true trendsetter!

TIP: Watch for sales!  They just had a 30%-50% off apparel sale!  (I was impatient and already placed my order- so I could have saved like $20…)

Best Budget-Friendly Korean Fashion Websites Without Shipping Fees

If $200 is out of your budget, then ASOS will become your best friend.  They sell a few pieces from Stylenanda now and they have free shipping over $50 plus FREE returns.  Yes, you read that right.  If it doesn’t fit or look right or you just changed your mind, you can return it.  Thank you ASOS for stocking Stylenanda.

A recent discovery is Kooding.  It’s like a Korean marketplace with lots of trendy Korean brands such as CHUU.  For orders, over $75 you get free shipping!  CHUU is famous for their -5kg jeans.  I desperately want to get my hands on a pair!

**They’re called loose weight jeans on the site, if you’re searching for them on the Kooding site.

On the CHUU site, there will be an $8.99 shipping charge (no matter how much you spend).  Which actually isn’t that bad compared to Aland’s insanely high shipping charges.  I was looking at buying a bottle of sunscreen and the shipping charge was $40.  If I bought the sweater I wanted with the sunscreen, the shipping charge was $60.  WHAT??!??

Aliexpress and Ebay also sell a lot of Korean fashion stuff, but I would stick to head accessories on these sites.  The sizing can be off and the material of some of these clothes can be very hit or miss.  But the prices are super affordable so if you don’t mind losing a few dollars then go ahead and buy it.  Who knows? It might be one of the good ones.

Aliexpress and Ebay Reviews

From Aliexpress and Ebay, I’ve bought beanies, a hat, headbands, tank tops, and bralets.  Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with my purchases but here are the full reviews of each product.

I bought the super trendy, “Bad Hair Day” beanie from Ebay for $3. The material of the beanie is very similar to the ones they sell in Forever 21.

For the hat, it’s super structured and made of a weird felt-plastic material. But what should I expect for $3?  It’s cute for pictures or as decor for your walls.  You just can’t really wear it out without feeling like you’re wearing one of those Luck of the Irish green hats from Party City.

For those super cute bunny ear headbands, Aliexpress and Ebay are perfect.  I’ve bought five so far and they cost less than a $1!  They’re not the best quality but they look really cute.

The tank tops I bought from Ebay were actually pretty soft.  They were just a really awkward length, so I cropped it.  But other than that they were surprisingly good.  Sometimes on cheap clothing sites, it lists the material as cotton blend and you get a very itchy material that feels quite strange.

The bralets I wouldn’t really recommend buying from Ebay.  I bought knock-off Chiyo tops from Ebay and they are cute, but almost impossible to put on unless you’re and XS or S.  And the  material is really flimsy so they’re semi-see-through.  The thing that really bugs me is that you can see the pads in the bralet.  Plus, one of my bralets came with a bent pad so I had to replace it with one from my swimsuits.

Music Festival Fashion on a Budget + the Seven Pieces You Need This Summer

It’s officially spring!  (Throws petals in to the air) So, music festival season is around the corner.  Be prepared this year by scoring the five pieces you need this summer.  I’m here to tell you that Music festival fashion on a budget is possible.  You just need to shop early and get in on those mid-season sales (before they sell out). OR if you’re a little lazy and prefer shopping while laying in bed, then I have the PERFECT solution for you! Keep reading to find my fashion secret.

The Seven Pieces You Need This Summer

  1. Glamorous sheer tunics
  2. Fringed kimonos
  3. Distressed cutoff shorts
  4. Comfy platform shoes
  5. Sporty crop tops
  6. Super cute sunglasses
  7. A fabulous Hat

First on the list are sheer tunics.  They are perfect for layering over crop tops or a cute bralet.  They prevent your skin from being overexposed to the sun.  Plus, they’re super light and won’t make you sweat in the summer heat because we all know that is not a pretty sight.

Pair your sheer tunics with a great belt and a large hat with some fabulous sunnies for a picture perfect Rachel Zoe approved outfit.

The next item on your packing list has to be a great kimono.  It’s going to get cooler in the night, so a kimono or maybe even a denim jacket depending on the climate is a very necessary item to pack.  Kimonos are light and add texture and interest to your tee and cutoffs outfit.

A floral fringed kimono is basically the most beautiful and perfect festival piece.  You can even wear it to the beach or the pool as a cover-up!

Next on the list are cutoff shorts because who can live without these in the summer?  They go with everything from crop tops to tees to blouses and everything in between.  Plus, they also look great under long tunics and short dresses too!

Now, if you’re a short girl like me then platforms are a must-have music festival fashion item.  These can come in the form of sandals, boots, or sneakers.

No summer wardrobe is complete without crop tops. You can style your favorite one with high waisted shorts, a ruffled skirt, or even a classic denim skirt.  Throw a kimono over your outfit and you’re festival ready!

Grab your favorite sunnies and a large brim hat because you’re now Instagram and Festival ready!  #outfitgoals

Music Festival Fashion on a Budget

Many of us are on a budget, so try shopping online for a great deal!  Currently, I’ve been obsessed with Tophatter.  They have a TON of great items for less than $25 including shipping!  If you love EBay shopping then you’ll love this.  Tophatter will actually notify you when bidding starts on your favorite items.  But if you’re impatient like me, you can also buy the items at the listed price.  I’m in love with this floral tunic I got from them.  It goes so well with denim shorts and a pair of strappy sandals.  The sheer fabric shows off my bralet in the most flattering way.

What do you think?

I also got this kimono from Tophatter.  Guess what? It was less than $15 and it is gorgeous, right?  It looks great with skinnies in the spring and fabulous over a dress once the weather starts warming up in RVA.

What’s your favorite way to style a kimono?

Music festival fashion on a budget is possible guys, especially if you’re willing to go digging for treasure at your local thrift store.  With thrifting, you’ll never know what you’ll find.  The thrift store is one of my favorite places to find jeans and cutoff shorts.  You can get your next favorite pair of high waisted shorts for less than $5!

When you find a super cool graphic tee at a thrift store, you can easily make it into a crop top or tie the hem in to a small knot for the perfect fit.  Remember music festival fashion on a budget is totally attainable if you use a little imagination and innovation.

Whether you’re going to a festival this year or staying at home these pieces are the perfect way to beat the summer heat in style!

From Casual to Formal: 3 Ways to style a Camel Coat

Camel coats are a winter essential!  They are a classic piece that has climbed to the top of the fashion ladder.  Bloggers, models, and designers made camel THE color of the season.  The coat is super versatile.  It can be styled with a t-shirt or dress.  You can wear this coat to school, on a date, or to a wedding.  No matter what you wear with it.  You’ll look chic and stylish.  Bloggers love this coat because its easy, minimal, and chic.  Make this sophisticated look yours too, with these 3 easy ways to style a camel coat.

Camel Coat Casual Look

The first way to style this winter classic is casually with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.  This polished look will be great for running errands or going out to brunch.  For a cool effortless look, pair the coat with distressed jeans and a  pair of classic heels.

Night Out Look

Another way to style the camel coat is for a night out outfit.  I paired it with all black for an easy and super chic outfit.  This coat would also look great with patterns and colors too.  Since camel is a neutral color, you can use it to tone down bold patterns or bright colors.

Formal Look

For a nice dinner, you can wear the coat over a dress.  I wore my coat over a burgundy colored midi dress for an easy trendy look.    I love the midi dress because I feel instantly more chic once I slip it on.  Plus, the platform wedges elongate my legs, balancing out the longer hem of the dress.

How would you style the camel coat?

Disclaimed: Camel Coat is from DressIn.

I received the product free for styling purposes.
