Let’s Go Out in Pajamas!

Going out in pajamas should be a thing.  It should be socially acceptable because who doesn’t love to wear their pajamas?  They are soft and fuzzy in the winter and light and oversized in the summer.  Well, I’m here to tell you that you can go out in pajamas and still look great!

Here are five outfits that incorporate the comfiest clothes in to cute, stylish outfits that are appropriate for a brunch date with your girlfriends or a night out on the town.

The First outfit
Outfit Details:
Hat: Ebay
Top: Aeropostale
Shorts: Forever 21
These shorts are seriously one of the most comfortable things ever!  They are cute and stylish and go with everything.  In this outfit, I paired the shorts with a polka dot mock neck top and a beanie.  The top’s super stretchy and soft material is comfortable enough to wear to bed and cute enough to go out in!  And if you are in a serious rush, then obviously, your hair is not getting done.  And in these desperate times, I love to throw a beanie on my head to hide my mess of knots.

 Second Outfit
Outfit Details:
Sweater: Macy’s
If it’s a little cold, then you can throw on a sweater over the top.  I love how the high neck top peaks out from the sweater.   You can also pair the shorts with some black tights and little ankle booties for the fall and winter.  And if gets really cold, you can pair this outfit with a grey coat!
 Third Outfit
Outfit Details:
T-shirt: American Eagle
Necklaces: gift and Ebay
Old band tees and graphic tees are super comfortable paired with fuzzy pajama bottoms or a cute pair of lace shorts!  You can roll out of bed in this outfit and still look fabulous!

Fourth Outfit
Outfit Details:
Hat: Fedora
Top: Ralph Lauren
Shorts: Old Navy
I seriously lived in these shorts over the summer.  They are loose and comfy and paired with a soft cotton button up, these shorts are ready for a night out on the town. With a pair of heels, you can look great dancing till dawn while being super comfortable!  What I love about this cotton button-up is that its just as soft and comfy as a pajama top!  And the pattern is a great pop of color!

Fifth Outfit
Outfit Details:
Necklace: Ebay
Pants: Thrifted
The loose fitting harlem pants are an essential piece in my wardrobe.  They are so chic, paired with heels and a blouse or even a fun t-shirt.  Thrown under a blazer or chic camel coat, this outfit will be weather ready and super stylish.  I love sleeping in this outfit because it’s super comfy and I know I can look great even when I’m rolling out of bed and running to class!
What are your favorite pieces to sleep in?  Will you wear them out?

Falling for layers

Fall is the time for layers because it’s always freezing in the morning and warm in the afternoon.  RVA has been having some amazing weather!  I am loving fall right now because I can wear my fuzzy cardigans and sweaters and I can still wear crop tops and shorts.  Fall is seriously the best season ever!  And here are some of my favorite fall combos!

Crop top, Shorts, and A Collared blouse

This is the perfect combo for you if it’s still a little warm outside.
For some added warmth, you can always add tights (my favorite are black tights)!
And you can also switch out the collared shirt for a fuzzy cardigan or sweater.
If it’s cold, throw off your flats and slip your feet in to your favorite boots.

Stripes, Denim, and Cozy Sweaters
In my opinion, this is the perfect combo for those cold mornings and warm afternoons.
I’m pretty sure I’m wearing this striped shirt to death, but I love it!
I love playing with different stripe sizes, so I paired my shirt with a scarf.
For some warmth, I layered this outfit with a denim shirt and a cardigan.
This combo is great with leggings, black, blue, or burgundy skinny jeans!
And of course, you can’t forget the boots!
What do you like to wear in the fall?

Aeropostale Reinvented

With midterms coming and paper due dates looming over us like a dark cloud, a little bit of retail therapy acts as a great stress reliever.  Inbetween classes, I decided to go down to the mall about 10 minutes from my school and did a little shopping.  By the way, shopping at the mall on Monday morning is like going to a ghost town.  NOBODY is around.  Anyway, I decided to walk in to Aeropostale.  I’ve been curious about how they have changed.  Because after middle school and early high school, I completely stopped shopping there.  It just wasn’t my style.  But after watching the You’ve Changed so We’ve Changed commercial on YouTube about five million times, I decided to go take a look.  And I was pleasantly surprised to find some awesome pieces that I have been looking for EVERYWHERE and couldn’t find.  Who knew I would find them at Aeropostale of all places?

Aeropostale really has changed.  Their new look is more affordable and more trendy.  They have jeggings for $12 right now and long sleeve shirts and sweaters selling for less than $25!  It’s insane.  I remember their stuff being so expensive a few years ago.  I will definitely be going back when I some money to shop.  Anyway, I was buying some summer pieces that were on a ridiculously awesome sale.

If you haven’t already, check out my post on how to shop smart!  Click here!

A lot of the pieces I found were from a brand called “Map to Mars” and their style is quite similar to Brandy Melville.  I have been in love with Brandy Melville clothing items and accessories for years now, but I don’t have one nearby.  But now that Aeropostale has changed, I can honestly say I will definitely be going back for some winter pieces.  And the great thing about “Map to Mars” is that their clothes are not one size fits all.  They have sizes XS to XL.

The two crop striped tops I got from Aeropostale look really similar to the ones on Brandy Melville that are going for $20-$25.  And right now, they are on sale for $5.  Yes, $5!  I would be running to the mall if I were you to score these awesome deals!

Their mock neck crop top is very similar to the American Apparel ones that I have been drooling over all summer!  I found a polka dotted one for only $4!  Compared to the $32 that it costs at American Apparel.  I think I got a pretty good deal!  I know that American Apparel stuff is Made in the USA and I would love to support US companies, but I’m a college student that can’t afford their prices right now.  So, to Aeropostale it is!

Five outfits in Five Minutes

Everyone has those mornings where you just don’t want to get out of bed till the very last minute.  Burying yourself under your covers and just hoping with all your might that it was Saturday.  But, it usually isn’t and you have to drag yourself out of bed eventually and get dressed.

There are five outfits that I immediately go to when I’m in one of these situations.  The first outfit is super comfy and super easy to throw on in the morning.  You can even get dressed in the dark and still look fabulous!

My first outfit it perfect for those chilly fall days that are coming our way.
I paired my favorite loose cardigan with a long tank I scored during Topshop’s sale for a super comfy, yet cute look!  And who can live without a pair of black leggings this fall?
And for a little bit of edge, I wore my outfit with my Jeffrey Campbell Everwell boots.
Can you tell I’m obsessed about them?

My second outfit incorporates a long shimmery sweater that is perfect for a night out in to the perfect day time outfit with the help of, yet, another Topshop tank!  The deal was too good to pass up!
And my trusty black leggings are always there for me!  This time I paired my outfit with one of my favorite Dr. Martens.  They are super comfy and take seconds to just slip on!
For a cool, yet effortless vibe, I go with black and black.  This top is originally from Free People and I scored this top from Poshmark for under $20!
Leggings and cut out boots are my go to essentials this fall.

There are days where the weather decides that it’s going to feel like summer.  And on those days, I love to rock an all neutral outfit.  They are super easy to put together and they complement each other beautifully.  And of course, I couldn’t leave my cut out boots at home!

This beautifully bold printed dress just screams fall from the great autumnal colors to the elongating vertical pattern.  I am in love with the little poms poms!  Because this dress makes such a beautiful statement on its own.  I just paired it with my Jeffrey Campbell France boots for a quick and easy fall look.  And for a little added warmth, you can always pair this look with a great denim jacket!
The key to getting dressed fast is looking at color and texture.  As you can see, most of my outfits are a mix of neutrals.  But they aren’t boring!  Each of the outfits play with texture and pattern.  For example, the speckled knit cardigan and the shimmery sweater really stood out over my tank and black leggings.  And the monochromatic black on black look stays interesting with the sheer paneling on the sleeves.
For quick outfits, keep your colors simple and the textural element will add the interest or find a really bold piece such as the dress above and play it up by matching the dress or top with some key basics.  With these tips, you can’t go wrong!  Have a great semester this fall!
