It’s time to take a walk down memory lane. Prom, for many people, was the “night of all nights,” the night they’ll remember forever. But my prom night was not what defined my high school career. I took care in choosing my dress and shoes but my high school career was filled with hard work and making friends that I can’t live without. Prom night was not amazing. I went, I danced…it was alright. I honestly had more fun when my friends and I just gathered at each other’s houses and watched a movie together and talked. Prom was loud and crowded.
And honestly, looking at my Prom pictures, I had no idea what I was doing with my makeup. And here’s my chance to redo that night. To get all dolled up and show that I do know where my eyeshadow goes, that I know where to highlight and contour my face. I didn’t even know what contouring was in high school!
If you’re like me and you’re homebody. Prom may not be the funnest day of your life, but I do believe it’s an experience that everyone should have. You won’t know you don’t like it if you don’t go! It might turn out to be the most magical night of your life like in the hundreds of teen movies! Or it might not live up to expectation. But any night spent with a group of friends can’t be too bad, right?
Honestly, the experience of getting ready is sometimes more fun than the actual going out part…I mean how many times do we get to wear an evening gown? I can count about three times: Prom, Bridesmaid, and Bride (and that’s only if you want to get married!). So, obviously I had to go to prom, so I can wear a floor length evening gown! (Don’t judge me! The Fashionista in me had to get my hands on a dress. I spent so much time looking at the movie award shows on TV, drooling at the dresses, I couldn’t NOT let myself finally live out my Princess dreams and wear a floor length evening gown.)
